An update for several Sony Ericsson handsets has been released. The update makes it the second update for the Sony Ericsson Satio and Sony Ericsson Aino. The Satio update brings in extra features, which allow you to upload to YouTube and Facebook. You can also shoot widescreen videos with WVGA and watch them in increased resolution (864×480). It’s also possible to connect the phone to gaming systems and home entertainment systems through DLNA. Unfortunately, there’s no information on whether this has fixed any of the ongoing issues with the handset. Let us know if you’ve noticed any differences/improvements after updating.

Following on from the Satio finally being made available in the US from the Sony Style store, the Xperia X2 is now up for pre-order. With the X10 already released in some countries though and the US very soon, could it be too late for the X2? The Xperia X2 features similar specs of the X10 except the main difference is the X2 is powered by Windows Mobile instead of Android. The X2 is loaded with Windows Mobile 6.5 which is an upgrade from the X1. Windows Mobile 7 isn’t on the cards for the handset either.

The Xperia has got a release date thanks to Play.com. You can now pre-order the handset from Play, who state the release date is January 29th. The RRP for the handset is £549.99 but, with Play it’ll cost £50 less at £499.99. While over on the Vodafone store, the Xperia X2 page has mysteriously disappeared. Instead you are greeted with a page not found page.

It may have only been a few days since the Xperia X2 was officially announced, but the handset is already available to pre-order. Rumors are going around that the handset will be released November 2nd in Italy for 600 Euros, but as of yet, I’m yet to see any sites confirming this.
In the UK however it’s a different story. Retailer Expansys, who previously listed the X3 for a couple of days, has the Xperia X2 listed for pre-order with a release date and price. It lists the specs which we already know, such as featuring an 8.1 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.5 and TV Out. Expansys are listing the X2 with an estimated release date of 11 January 2010. The price of the handset is listed as £604.99.

News has been flying around lately about all the upcoming Xperia handsets from Sony Ericsson, but have you been keeping track? Here to help you out, is a quick review on the upcoming Xperia models, as well as the current Xperia X1.

The Xperia X1, currently on sale around the world is the first Windows Mobile handset from Sony Ericsson. The handset also features a touch screen and slide out QWERTY keyboard. Camera wise it features an impressive, yet slightly outdated 3.2 megapixel camera.

The next Xperia handset, the X2, aka Vulcan brings the camera up a notch to 8.1 megapixel. Also updated will be Windows Mobile, the X2 is set to use Windows Mobile 6.5. Other similar specs of the handset includes a 3.5 inch touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard.

Images and specs have also been floating around of the Xperia Rachael, which was originally thought to be the X3 although some are suggesting that Rachael is in fact X5 which we’ll come onto next. Currently, the X3 is rumoured to be a mysterious handset, going by the name of Kiki. Not much information on Kiki at the moment apart from the screen. Kiki uses a glass screen with a rear projected image. Xperia wording can be found on the back of the handset, which is the only thing currently that points to the Xperia brand, as there’s no QWERTY keyboard to be found. Kiki is also supposedly running Android.

Also running Android and receiving much more hype than Kiki, is Rachael. Abandoning Windows Mobile in favour of Android has got a lot of people excited. No visible QWERTY keyboard on the handset, but perhaps the increased screen size reflects the absence of it. Coming it at 4 inches, it’s the biggest of the Xperia screens. As for the Xperia X4, no information has been released on it, but perhaps Kiki could be the X4.
