Sony VAIO EA, EB and EC laptops available for pre-order Stateside

Sony has revealed that they will begin selling three new notebook ranges in the US. Both the EA and EB series feature brightly colored models. The VAIO EA will be available in blue, pink, green, black, grey (gunmetal black) and white. The EA series features a 14 inch display and will have a starting price of $769.99.

The next model up, the EB series, is also available in the same colors and has a starting price of $699.99. Despite the smaller price tag, the EB series actually has a larger display which measures 15.5 inches.

The VAIO EC on the other hand, is only available in Gunmetal black and will have a starting price of $819.99, with a 17.3 inch display.

All of the base models include 4GB of RAM, with the option to upgrade to 8GB, a 320GB hard drive, which you can upgrade to 500GB, as well as the i3 Intel processor. It’s also possible to upgrade the laptops to include the i5 processor. Both the EA and EB series also have the option of customizing the keyboard skin color.

Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) is the default operating system but, like the other specs, this can also be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, again 64 bit. Each laptop also comes with a DVD drive built in but, can be upgraded to support Blu-Ray disks.

The laptops can be pre-ordered now and will begin shipping in July.
