Eurogamer have published their latest chat with Sony regarding the PlayStation Move controller system. In this latest revelation Sony have admitted that they can make the Move even more accurate than it is currently through a potential upgrade of the units firmware. Although the source, Anton Mikhailov from SCEA, doesn’t believe an improvement in accuracy is necessary:

“So far we haven’t had any real requests from studios to improve the accuracy.  There are a couple of issues here and there we can fix, but the majority the games are not even taxing it to its full accuracy.”

What do you think, is the Move accurate enough for you? I personally think it is a very accurate system, I’ve never had any issues with the accuracy of the PS Move but, it’s good to know that there is a plan for the future all the same and firmware updates if we need them.

Sony recently announced that the PSPgo would recieve a price drop in the coming weeks but, only in the US and Japan. However, MCV have tracked down new information and Sony have now also confirmed to them that the PSPgo will be reduced in price in the UK too.

In Japan the PSPgo is to be reduced from 26,800 yen to 16,800 yen and in the US the Sony handheld will now cost $199, reduced $50 from the original $249 it was retailing at previously. The newly confirmed UK price drop will see £65 slashed off the current recommended retail price of £225, taking the PSPgo to £159.99 in UK stores.

It’s almost here. Sony have revealed their new range of HDTV’s that come complete with the anticiated and much discussed Google TV service integration.

With their new range of TV’s, Sony are teaming up with Google to offer consumers the ability to connect to the internet and use services such as Twitter and YouTube and in the near future, to connect to Google’s Android Marketplace and access a plethora of applications.

The new TV range is priced as below and are available at Sony Style stores from the 16th of October:

24″ HDTV – $600

32″ HDTV – $800

40″ HDTV – $1000

46″ HDTV – $1400

Sony have unveiled their plan to create a whopping 16.4MP camera sensor which is specifically designed for use on mobile phone handsets which is exciting news for those of us that use their phone cameras as their primary cameras.

The IMX081PQ is an Exmor R based CMOS sensor and uses a back illumination to reduce noise in photographs. This technology is usually found in still cameras and camcorders in Sonys range of products. The IMX081PQ allows for 1080p video creation.

Also revealed was the IMX105PQ which is an 8.13MP sensor which uses similar technology but, will be used in smaller handsets by Sony and potentially by other mobile phone manufacturers in the future.

Initial production of the sensors isn’t due to begin until Q1 of 2011 and a few sample images can be found at the via link below which takes you to the full Sony press release for the new camera sensors also.

Gaming website VG247 have declared that the ‘official’ release date for the next incarnation of the PlayStation handheld device, the PSP 2, will be “in time for Christmas 2011”.

Sony themselves have said nothing about a firm release date of a PSP 2 but, it they intend continuing with their PlayStation Portable gaming range then the PSP 2 will come at some point and a pre-holiday release would seem to make sense.

Apparently developers and publishers have been informed about the release date and the VG247 source told them that, “We’ve been told it’s coming in late 2011”. We will wait for the official word before getting too excited however.
