Sony have updated their VAIO M netbook to include the latest Intel Atom processor. Currently the netbook features an Intel Atom N450 processor but, the newer model will feature the Intel Atom N470 processor, which increases the CPU from 1.66GHz to 1.86GHz. None of the other specs appear to have changed. It will still feature a 10.1 inch display with the standard netbook resolution of 1024×600, 1GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It will also be available in white, blue or pink and will retail for $399. Will you be picking up the VAIO M with it’s updated processor, or do you wish Sony had done more, like include the impressive 1366×768 resolution as found on their VAIO W line?

Sony Style US have stocks of the highly anticipated second generation of Sony Vaio P netbooks and are shipping a week earlier than expected. US buyers have had to wait for their Vaio P whilst watching other countries recieve their ‘lifestyle PC’ as early as May this year but, Sony Style are sending the Vaio P out as of today (18th June) as opposed to the stated shipping date of the 25th of June. That is unless you are waiting for the hot pink Vaio P which unfortunately isn’t available for shipping yet.
Here is some good news for all those communicator fans. Sony Ericsson is allegedly developing an Android device which is similar to the Nokia Communicator. The device will feature a 5.5 inch screen and will have a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
The device is more of a miniature netbook than a smartphone because of its relatively large size.
This image was posted on It168 by reliable sources. The above shown device is a prototype and is currently undergoing the early stages of testing.
It will run the Android 2.1 version and is expected to be unveiled in Q3.

For folks in the the UK, Northern Ireland, the Netherlands or Spain, those who purchase promotional Magnum ice creams, can enter a competition, whereby the prize is a Sony VAIO P laptop in gold. The company will be giving away one VAIO P every day until the end of June. From July until August, the company will still have VAIO P laptops up for grabs but, reduced to one winner a week. It’s unknown whether the VAIO P is the old model, or the newest version, as the actual Magnum website, along with the ice cream packaging doesn’t state it’s the VAIO P, let alone what specs it has. Each promotional Magnum ice cream has a code on the stick, which can be entered into the Magnum website.
