Two new phones have been announced today for those living in Japan. First up is the Cyber shot S003 which, from the looks, is a cross between the C905 and the Satio. On the front, it features a slide out keypad (like the C905), with a 3.2 inch display. The handset can display up to 16.7 million colors and display in 480×854 resolution. Where as on the back, the S003 looks very similar to the Sony Ericsson Satio, including the 12.1 megapixel camera. It also features a Sony Exmor image sensor. It appears to be available in white, black, pink and purple.
The second handset Sony Ericsson have announced, is the Bravia S004 handset. From the design it looks like a standard flip phone but, underneath the shell is a superb Bravia branded display. The display measures 3.2 inches and has a resolution of 480×854. Like the S003 it’s also capable of displaying up to 16.7 million colors. It also appears to be running a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, like that found on the Xperia X10. We also know that it sports an 8 mega pixel camera with autofocus. Color variants for the S004 appear to be black, silver, red and blue/purple.
A release date for either handset isn’t known yet, with the Sony Ericsson Japan website saying that both the S003 and S004 handsets are comings soon. We do however know, that both handsets will be available from Japanese carrier “au by KKDI”.
