PlayStation Move announced

Sony has revealed plans to launch the PlayStation Move in fall this year, and the Move is already expected to be next big thing in the world of gaming.

PlayStation Move is a motion controller system, which detects the player’s movements with the help of sensors and allows precise motion-controlled video gaming on the PlayStation 3.

Though some people call it a Nintendo Wii rip-off, there is a lot of difference between the two consoles. While the Wii tracks relative movement based on previous position, Move can track its controller within real 3D space. The need for a camera is solved by the PlayStation Eye, which is already in the market.

Unlike the Wii which runs on regular batteries, the Move is powered by a lithium ion battery, which is similar to the one that fuels the PlayStation 3 controller.

The Move + Camera is expected to cost $100, with an additional $50 for the sub-controller.
