Head of Polyphony Digital (a subsidary of Sony Computer Entertainment and creators of the Gran Turismo series of games), Kaz Yamauci has made a post on Twitter apparently stating that he believes that the upcoming PS3 title Gran Turismo 5 could require a massive 10GB of hard drive space to install the game for smoother game play.

Gran Turismo 5 will be released at the beginning of November this year for the Sony PlayStation 3 and can actually run using just 256MB of hard drive space. CVG thinks that the ‘recommendation’ by Yamauchi to fully install the game is to “take the heat off the Blu-ray disc” which makes sense.

Of course, 10 GB is a lot of space but, considering the length of time we have waited for GT5 and the anticipation that has built up for it’s release, I doubt many gamers would really mind if they absolutely had to use up 10GB on their hard drives, GT5 is presumably going to be one of the ‘must have’ titles of 2010 after all.

Gran Turismo 5 will be released on November 2nd in America and on November 3rd in Europe and Japan.

Could it be Sackboy or are we about to see some Mafia II content released soon? Well, we will find out for sure in around about 3 days and 12 hours it seems.

Over on the Japanese PlayStation site, Sony have created a countdown page for an unnamed ‘product’. All we see is a man sitting in a chair knitting. The man in question appears to be in ‘mafia clothing’ and is knitting what could be a sackboy although, we really don’t know anything for sure. The name of the page that Sony have put up is Amimono which apparently means ‘knitting’ in Japanese.

If you want to keep track of the countdown yourself, the Amimono page is the place to go and if anyone has any suggestions as to what the mystery content could be, let us know in the comments!

Over at Gizmo Dot, the folks have got hold of the popular NWZ-E443 Walkman from Sony. The E443 is available in both red and black and in 4GB or 8GB variants. The model unboxed is the red 4GB version which retails for around £60 in the UK.

The 4GB of storage can store around 1000 tracks or 15 hours of video. The battery can last for around 30 hours while playing music, or 6 hours while watching videos. An FM Radio is also built in, so if you fancy a break from your music tracks, you have an alternative option. The Walkman also supports the viewing of photos. As for transferring media, it can be done easily on the Walkman with Windows explorer, no need for a seperate client to transfer music and video. The E443 Walkman features a proprietary port, which is a bit of a disappointment, mini USB would have been much better but, a cable is provided with the Walkman for transferring media and charging via computer. An additional wall charger can be purchased for the Walkman, or alternatively, an AC adapter that features a USB connection port, as found with many new phones, such as the Xperia X10. If you’re after the Xperia X10 Mini, it could be worth taking a look at the offer Argos has on in the UK. The handset usually retails for £179.99 and the pricing is no different at Argos, although you do need to also top up £10. You will however get some extras free with the handset if reserved and collected in store. Unfortunately the offer isn’t available online, so you will need to collect from your nearest store with stock.

When adding the Xperia X10 Mini to your basket, you can add three accessories as well which would normally cost £49.97 but, when adding all three you get them absolutely free. The first accessory is a 4GB card. The handset comes with a 2GB micro SD card as standard, so you can double the amount of memory straight away. You also get a universal screen protector. While not the best, as you’ll need to cut the screen protector to size, it will do the job of protecting the screen. A mobile phone drive pack is also included in the offer. The pack contains a bluetooth ear piece, in car charger and a universal vent holder which is dash mountable.
